How long a perfume lasts depends on the scent, its concentration, your skin and how you wear it. You cannot change some of these, but you control how you apply it.
Seven Simple Habits
- Apply to moisturized skin. Dry skin absorbs and evaporates perfume faster; use an unscented lotion after the shower.
- Use pulse points: wrists, behind the ears, neck and inner elbows, spraying from 15 to 20 cm.
- Do not rub. Rubbing wrists breaks down the top notes.
- Spray clothes too from a little distance; fabric holds scent well, but take care with delicate fabrics.
- Pick the right scent and concentration: EDP and Parfum outlast EDT, woody, amber, vanilla and oud scents last longer than citrus.
- Layer with a matching lotion; see our gift sets.
- Store it well: away from heat, light and humidity, with the cap closed.
If you cannot smell your perfume, you may be experiencing nose fatigue; ask someone else or smell again later. Try a sample to judge longevity before you buy.
