Buying an expensive perfume without knowing it is like buying clothes without trying them on. A scent that sounded perfect may smell different on your skin; that is why samples exist.

What Is a Sample?

A sample, or decant, is a small amount of an original perfume in a small bottle, usually 1 to 5 ml, enough to wear for several days.

Why Test?

  • Scent smells different on every skin.
  • Top notes fade quickly, so the true scent appears only after hours.
  • Niche, oud and leather scents are personal and riskier to buy blind.
  • A sample costs far less than a full bottle.

How to Test

Spray on your wrist without rubbing, smell again after 15 minutes, one hour and three hours, try it on clothes, test only two or three scents a day and wear it for a few days.
