Olivier Pescheux
The late Givaudan master perfumer behind Paco Rabanne's One Million, known for elegant, luminous olfactive writing.
Biography
Olivier Pescheux, a French perfumer born in Paris in 1966, decided at age 12 that he wanted to become a perfumer and never let go of that ambition. After graduating from ISIPCA in 1990, he began his career in Bangkok with Payan Bertrand, then joined Annick Goutal in Paris before moving to Japan's Kao Corporation in 1993. From 1998 until his death he worked at Givaudan, where he won the International Fragrance Prize in 2010. His signature runs through some of the past decades' biggest and most acclaimed fragrances: Paco Rabanne's One Million, Diptyque's 34 Collection, Parfums de Marly's Herod, Lacoste's L.12.12 Blanc, and Dior's Higher. Colleagues described his olfactive writing as elegant and luminous, and he was elevated to the rank of Master Perfumer at Givaudan. Olivier Pescheux passed away on July 10, 2023, at 57, after a long illness.
